Hi, my name is Dr. Amelia and I am a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor. My primary focus of study has been lifestyle medicine, which focuses on the habits, mindset, foods, supplements, and environmental factors that create healthy, long-living, happy, fulfilled humans.  

 

You have probably asked the question a million times, "Why can't I lose the weight and keep it off?"

 

There are a few reasons why that might be. One of them lies in adverse childhood experiences. Maybe your parents divorced when you were a kid, or there was someone in the family who struggled with alcohol. Adverse childhood experiences impact us in unseen ways for the rest of our lives. They can contribute to the development of excess weight or chronic disease.

That identity has been programmed into every cell in our body and does not change because your weight changed. You must actively shift your identity and repattern your habits, thoughts, and subconscious beliefs to match your new body.

Research suggests most people regain the weight they lost after about 2 years, and often more than they lost. Just reducing your calorie intake is not successful or sustainable because your body adapts to your new calorie intake. If you are taking in only 1200 calories, that becomes your new baseline metabolic rate, so you will stop losing weight at that calorie intake.

Amelia is a Licensed Naturopathic doctor in the States of Oregon and Washington. She has a diverse and eclectic skill stack that includes knowledge of the application of herbs, homeopathy, physical medicine, pharmaceuticals, and esoteric healing modalities such as Pranic Healing, Reiki and Shamanism.  

 

She is passionate about healing health and wellness. She has always seen the healing power of nature and believed our bodies have the innate capacity to heal themselves. Before finding Naturopathic medicine, she healed her body by changing her diet and exercising. Through a mental health crisis, she discovered our energetic and spiritual nature, which just like the body, requires cleansing, and nurturing.
